Blockchain forensics is a branch of IT forensics focused on tracing and analyzing data within blockchains, with particular attention to transactions and their histories.

A large part of blockchain forensic investigations involves the analysis of transaction data, money laundering offenses, and the identification of digital assets. However, blockchain forensics can also be applied to the preparation of proof of funds (source of funds documentation) or the creation of tax reports.
